Technical Manager

Educational qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in textile engineering, materials science, chemistry, or related discipline.
• Proficiency with international standards: ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001.
• 5-8+ years of hands-on experience in textile/apparel testing laboratories.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and develop technical staff.
• Experience in managing client expectations, reporting results, and handling technical inquiries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations and test execution.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and client requirements.
• Manage technical team performance, training, and development.
• Review and approve technical reports.
• Liaise with clients on testing scope, timelines, and results.
• Identify process improvements and cost optimization opportunities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to data integrity.
• Continuous learning mindset for evolving standards and technologies.

Deep knowledge of

• Apparel testing standards: ISO, BS, AATCC/ASTM/EN standards.
• Laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks: EU regulations, US FTC requirements.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor technical teams.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and technical reporting.
• Project management and process improvement experience.
• Problem-solving and analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis tools.
