Import Executive

We are a leading manufacturer of “RIVER BRAND” steel Roofing Sheets, “THORN BRAND” Barbed Wire, Wire Nails, and other Builders’ Hardware for over 100 years. We are looking for a Smart, Energetic Candidate to fill the following Vacancies at our Head office, located in Colombo-13.

Requirements

• Establish import LCs.
• Forward advance shipping documents to the clearing agents and follow up for draft cusecs.
• Obtaining insurance cover for imports (EXW, FOB, CFR shipment) from insurance companies.
• Arrange import duty payments to clearing agents.
• Liaise with banks and foreign suppliers.
• Arrangements of Payments to foreign suppliers and maintaining records of the same.
• Liaise with clearing agents, local airlines, forwarders, shipping lines, etc. as necessary to arrange on-time shipment clearance
• Attend to regulatory and licensing matters with authorities such as Import Control, SLSI, TRC, etc.

Requirements

• Should have passed G C E A/L examination
• Professional Diploma related to supply chain management will be an added advantage
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience with exposure in the shipping/Freight forwarding / NVOCC Industry will be an added advantage
• Should be computer literate
• Good communication skills
• Strong follow-up and persuasive skills
• Good team player
