Assistant Manager – Imports

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, international business, business administration, finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification in supply chain / logistics / imports & exports procurement is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, including 2 years in a managerial/team-leadership role.
• Strong hands-on experience in LCs, imports, shipping, customs clearance & banking coordination.
• Experience managing overseas suppliers, RMA claims & high-value inventory.
• Advanced MS Excel & ERP knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end to end import & LC processes.
• Coordinate with overseas suppliers, banks, freight forwarders & clearing agents.
• Drive RMA claim recovery & settlement.
• Maintain 95%+ spare-parts availability.
• Optimize slow-moving, obsolete & excess inventory.
• Ensure inventory remains within the approved LKR 250 Mn ceiling.
• Improve spare-parts identification and reduce product replacements.
• Prepare and monitor monthly import & inventory performance reports.
