The authorized agent of GAC Sri Lanka is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to manage and coordinate the end-to-end import process for vehicles, spare parts and related products. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely imports while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

1. Coordinate the end-to-end import process for vehicles, spare parts and other automotive products.
2. Prepare and verify import documentation, including letters of credit (LCs), shipping documents, permits and customs-related documentation.
3. Liaise with overseas suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, clearing agents, banks and regulatory authorities to facilitate timely imports.
4. Monitor shipment schedules and proactively follow up on vessel arrivals and delivery timelines.
5. Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan import regulations, customs procedures and other statutory requirements.
6. Coordinate with internal departments, including sales, spare parts, finance, warehouse and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
7. Track import costs and maintain accurate records, reports and documentation.
8. Resolve shipment-related issues, discrepancies and delays in a timely manner.

Requirements

1. Degree or diploma in supply chain management, logistics, business management, international trade or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in imports, international logistics, shipping or supply chain operations.
3. Sound knowledge of import documentation, letters of credit (LCs), shipping procedures and Sri Lankan customs regulations.
4. Strong coordination, communication and negotiation skills.
5. Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities while working under tight deadlines.
