Electrical Engineer – Earthing & Lighting Protection

Key responsibilities

• Design earthing and lightning protection systems for electrical projects.
• Carry out earthing calculations, earth grid design, fault current, EPR/GPR, and touch & step voltage assessments.
• Perform soil resistivity analysis and soil modelling.
• Conduct earthing studies and simulations using CDEGS.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and other disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards.

Requirements

• Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in earthing/grounding and lightning protection design.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as IEC 62305, BS 7430, IEEE 80, and EN 50522.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage technical tasks.
