Technical Officer

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, or higher national diploma (HND) with 1–2 years of experience in a similar role within the solar energy sector.
2. Proven expertise in troubleshooting solar power systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
3. Strong technical proficiency in electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and diagnostics.
4. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
5. Trilingual proficiency in English, Sinhala, and Tamil, enabling effective communication across diverse teams and clients.
6. Well-versed in industry standards and best practices related to solar energy and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee routine preventive maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) systems.
2. Complete and submit the PM checklist before departure, ensuring site access, equipment, materials, and water availability.
3. Conduct electrical testing as part of preventive maintenance activities.
4. Contribute to project performance testing and analysis.
5. Maintain strong relationships with local CEB/LECO officials and project stakeholders.
6. Provide suggestions and take initiative to enhance plant performance and reduce downtime.
7. Maintain daily logs of preventive actions and report to the manager.
8. Ensure timely closure of preventive maintenance tickets.
9. Organize removal of shading obstacles (e.g., tree trimming, relocating temporary structures).
10. Ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols are followed before starting any work.
