QA Engineer

The Role
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer will work closely with the QA Lead to help write and execute manual & automation tests in a range of different technologies as well as suggest solutions to improve the quality of our technical work. The individual will also work and collaborate with Engineers from the Managed Services team.
Responsibilities
The role would require a commitment to Novigi’s overall QA strategy and include the planning and execution of test and verification strategies. Understanding delivery requirements and constraints with delivery excellence in mind at all times will be preeminent. The chosen candidate will be consigned with the following tasks:
- Review requirement specifications, understand the requirements, and provide meaningful and timely feedback
- Design, develop and execute automated test scripts
- Create well-structured and comprehensive test cases and test plans
- Provide input for test estimations
- Prioritize and perform quality testing activities
- Report issues and prepare bug reports (using JIRA)
- Provide input for QA Release Note
- Provide input for test artifacts
- Maintain test environments
- Automate regression test suites
- Perform usability and performance testing
- Assist and enhance the company’s testing methodologies and quality control standards
- Mentor and provide training assistance to Associate QA Engineers
Skills
The skills required for the QA Engineer role include:
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills including verbal and writing with the ability to directly communicate with clients in Australia as required.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Team player, with the ability to work well with a diverse group of people
- Great problem-solving skills
Qualification & Experience
- Degree in a Quantitative discipline such as IT or Computer Science.
- A minimum 03 year of experience in Quality Assurance is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies and processes.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Experience working on QA Automation tools (eg: Selenium, Cucumber, REST Assured, etc) is mandatory.
- Experience in software QA tools such as SoapUI, Postman, and Apache JMeter is mandatory.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting.
- Experience with AWS/Azure cloud providers is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of the software development cycle (including testing and release management)
- Experience working with APIs
- Excellent technical documentation skills are a must.
- Experience in Software development will be an added advantage.
