Deputy Head – Credit Administration

Role description

The ‘Deputy Head of Credit Administration’ supports the Head of Department in managing all aspects of credit operations. This role is critical in safeguarding lending processes, maintaining operational efficiency, and minimizing risk exposure.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or business administration.
  2. Fully or partially completed professional qualifications in IBSL, SLICM or equivalent.
  3. Above 5+ years of progressive experience in credit administration.
  4. Strong knowledge of credit policies, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards.
  5. Knowledge of local banking regulations and Central Bank directives.
  6. Familiarity with audit processes, internal controls, and risk mitigation strategies.

Male candidates are preferred.

Key responsibilities

  1. Supervise loan disbursement processes, ensuring compliance with approvals and policies.
  2. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal credit policies / manuals.
  3. Support audits by providing documentation and clarifications.
  4. Implement internal controls to prevent errors or fraud.
  5. Identify documentation gaps or irregularities that may expose to risk.
  6. Ensure completeness and accuracy of files before disbursement.
  7. Supervise credit administration officers and clerks.
