Chief Executive Officer

Guardian Insurance Brokers is seeking a highly experienced insurance professional to join the company as the Chief Executive Officer. If you are a strategic leader with a passion for the insurance industry and a drive to make an impact — we want to hear from you!

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall control, direction and supervision of the company’s business activities.
• Report directly to the board of directors on all matters of strategic, operational, and regulatory significance.
• Lead the company’s strategic direction, business growth, and operational governance.
• Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
• Serve as the primary point of accountability to IRCSL in respect of the company’s regulatory obligations.

Qualifications & experience requirements

• Associate/fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or an equivalent professional qualification acceptable to IRCSL, preferred.
• Candidates with extensive relevant industry experience in lieu of formal qualification will also be considered.
• Substantial experience in insurance-related activity at executive/managerial level, including recent experience in insurance sales or consultancy work, in line with IRCSL’s prescribed criteria.

Desired attributes

• Proven leadership experience in a regulated financial services or insurance environment.
• Sound understanding of insurance broking operations, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance in Sri Lanka.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving sustainable growth.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and the ability to engage effectively with regulators, the board, and industry stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and people-leadership capabilities.
