Assistant HR Manager

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training & development and performance management.
  • Support the HR manager in implementing HR policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Coordinate with different departments to address employee needs and ensure a positive work environment.
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in organizing HR related programs, inductions and employee engagement activities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and provide administrative support to the HR team.
  • Handle HR compliance matters and ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain and monitor statutory HR records and support EPF, ETF, wages board, shop & office and other labour-related compliance requirements.
  • Support internal/external audits, compliance inspections and corrective action follow-up.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary documentation and HR-related compliance matters confidentially.
  • Coordinate general administration activities including attendance, transport, canteen, uniforms, employee welfare, facilities and office administration.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments and service providers to maintain a safe, organized and efficient workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar HR/admin role, preferably in the apparel/garment industry.
  • Good knowledge of HR compliance, labour laws, statutory requirements, EPF/ETF, wages board and shop & office requirements.
  • Experience in HR administration, employee relations, disciplinary procedures and maintaining confidential records.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.
