Senior WordPress Developer

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins
• Design and implement new features and functions
• Maintain well-documented and reusable codes
• Proactively troubleshoot issues and construct solutions related to project development requirements
• Assist with project testing, debugging, documentation, and overall quality assurance
• Conduct performance analysis and recommend improvements
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with project managers, other designers, and developers within project teams, as well as with clients
• Present ideas or recommendations

Required Background

• Willing to work the UK shift
• Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
• Over three years of work experience as a WordPress developer
• Interest in software and web development trends, languages, and frameworks
• In-depth understanding of PHP, MySQL/database management, jQuery, JavaScript, API connections, WordPress technologies (themes and plugins), UI/UX knowledge, CSS3, HTML5, and SEO best practices for web development
• Willing to learn new technology to advance skills and quickly adapt to technology or platform changes
• Knowledge of code versioning tools, including Git, BitBucket, or SVN
• Knowledge of AWS/Azure Cloud Computing Services (an added advantage)
• Experience in using Performance and Debugging tools
• Strong HTML, CSS, and Responsive Web Design (RWD) skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills, with strong attention to detail
• Ability to interact effectively with staff and clients over email and phone
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge/interest in capital markets, funds, and asset management (an added advantage)
