Senior Data Consultant – Microsoft SQL Server

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage, update and maintain client’s library of SQL-stored procedures based on evolving technical and business requirementsAcuity Knowledge Partners 
  • Optimise and refactor codes based on database design best-practices to enhance code readability and lower memory and processing overheads
  • Write stored procedures and scripts based on emerging requirements
  • Collaborate with developers of other systems to test, update and optimise data integration across sales and marketing systems
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to elicit and define data and analytics requirements
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and evaluation of data using analytical and logical reasoning to examine each component of the data provided
  • Create appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process
  • Prepare reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns and predictions using relevant data
  • Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve SQL errors
  • Collaborate with senior digital marketing analyst and other senior managers to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend system modifications

Required Background

  • Willingness to work in UK shift
  • BSc or MSc in Information Technology/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent
  • Over five years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Practical knowledge of data in various forms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data environments)
  • Experience writing SQL scripts and procedures on Microsoft SQL databases
  • Experience creating database instances on cloud will be an added advantage (e.g. Azure Managed DBs)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a strong sense of client service
  • Strong organization skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities and work in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Solution-oriented resource with a high sense of quality, attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Team player with the ability to work independently, handle conflicting priorities and maintain quality performance standards consistently
  • Knowledge/interest in capital markets, funds and asset management will be an advantage
