Responsibilities
Responsible for handling day-to-day accounting and finance activities, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, ensuring statutory compliance, and providing timely financial information to management.
Requirements
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CA / ACCA / status will be an advantage.
- A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant professional experience in accounting and finance.
- Added advantage: Specific hands-on experience with Tally ERP.
- Strong expertise in corporate taxation, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain robust internal control.
Experience and skills
- Process and verify payments, receipts, invoices and other financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and perform bank, supplier, customer and inventory reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, budgets, cash-flow reports and other financial reports.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable and follow up outstanding balances.
- Ensure timely compliance with Sri Lankan tax laws, statutory requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax authorities, banks, government institutions and other relevant parties.
- Handle accounting and documentation related to imports, including invoices, shipping, customs documents, duties, taxes and payments.
- Analyze financial data, costs and variances and provide necessary information to management.
- Maintain proper filing of accounting, tax and import-related documents.
- Supervise accounting staff and ensure timely completion of accounting activities.
- Provide accurate financial information to support management decision-making.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.
