Your responsibilities will include
- Production & delivery: achieve monthly production plans, OTIF/customer requirements, capacity targets, and effective utilization of machines and manpower.
- Productivity & cost: improve output per employee/machine, control conversion cost, overtime, scrap, rework, energy consumption, and other manufacturing overheads.
- OEE & capacity: drive improvement in availability × performance × quality, identify bottlenecks, and maximize existing capacity before requesting additional CAPEX.
- Quality: improve FPY, reduce rejection/rework/customer complaints, and work closely with QA/QC and R&D on permanent corrective actions.
- Planning & inventory: work closely with SCM and sales through ERP/MRP-based production planning, control WIP, and prevent unnecessary RM/FG inventory.
- Maintenance & reliability: ensure preventive/predictive maintenance, reduce breakdowns and MTTR, and improve machine reliability development.
- Continuous improvement: lead lean, kaizen, 5S, SMED, line balancing, waste elimination, process optimization, and automation projects.
- People management: develop production managers, engineers, supervisors, and operators; establish clear KPIs and accountability; improve skill levels and workforce productivity.
- Safety & housekeeping: maintain high standards of EHS, PPE compliance, 5S, material storage, scrap handling, and factory discipline.
- CAPEX & automation: prepare business cases based on ROI/payback and lead implementation of automation, material-handling, and capacity-expansion projects.
You should
- Experience around 10–15 years in manufacturing, including 4–5+ years in a senior plant/operations leadership role.
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial, production engineering, or a related field would be preferred. An MBA/MSc in operations, supply chain, or manufacturing management is an advantage. Lean/six sigma, TPM, or similar continuous-improvement qualifications are also valuable.
