Assistant manager – branch operations (Jaffna)

Job responsibilities

1. Overseeing daily transaction, lending, deposits, and ensuring smooth branch operations, such as managing staff and monitoring tasks.
2. Ensuring adherence to banking laws, CBSL guidelines and company policies to prevent non-compliance issues.
3. Providing exemplary service to customers and addressing their needs and inquiries.
4. Streamlining processes to enhance efficiency and improve overall operations.
5. Leading and mentoring teller/cashier, customer relations officer, gold loan officer, back-office officer, and delegating tasks effectively.
6. Addressing any issues or complaints from customers or staff promptly and effectively.
7. Communicating operational updates, financial performance, and other key metrics to senior management.

Person’s profile

1. Professional qualifications in accounts (IBSL, HNDA, AAT) or equivalent qualifications will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 3-4 years’ service in a bank or NBFI sector.
3. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
4. Possess excellent written & oral communication skills specially in English. Proficiency in Sinhala & Tamil will be an added advantage.
