The Ayati National Center for Children with Disabilities, is located in Ragama. It is a center that provides unique and specialized services to children with various developmental disabilities through a multi-disciplinary team approach. Currently, Ayati serves more than 16,000 registered clients who receive services of this multi-disciplinary clinical operation extended to all physical and mental disabilities. Evidence-based management plans are provided by experienced and qualified clinicians at the Center. The services at the center are provided free of charge to all Sri Lankan children at present. Professional services are primarily provided by the staff of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya and the Ministry of Health, while the Ayati Trust Sri Lanka funds the day-to-day operations of the Center.
We are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated full-time speech and language therapist to join the Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) Clinic at Ayati.
Key responsibilities
- Assessment and intervention for children with CVI and communication difficulties
- Multidisciplinary team collaboration and parent coaching
- School and stakeholder coordination for inclusive educational support
- Clinical documentation, statistics, and quality assurance
- Participation in research, training, and service development activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing sciences
- Experience (added advantage):
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities
- Clinical exposure in paediatric speech and language therapy
- Knowledge or experience related to cerebral visual impairment (CVI)
- Experience in multidisciplinary and family-centered intervention approaches
- Interest in research, education, and evidence-based clinical practice
Salary range
Basic LKR 65,000/-
