Safety Officer

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer to join our MFC Project team. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in construction site safety management, risk assessment, and implementation of occupational health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Key responsibilities

1. Monitor and enforce compliance with project safety policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
2. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
3. Prepare and implement risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans.
4. Organize and conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training programs.
5. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
6. Coordinate emergency response procedures and ensure emergency equipment is properly maintained.
7. Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation.
8. Liaise with project management, subcontractors, and relevant authorities on safety matters.
9. Promote a strong safety culture and ensure continuous improvement of workplace safety standards.

Requirements

1. Diploma or degree in occupational health & safety, engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience as a safety officer in construction projects.
3. Professional safety certification will be an added advantage.
4. Sound knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
5. Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skills.
6. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
7. Ability to work independently and effectively manage site safety activities.
