About the organization

A leading private domestic airline in the Maldives, providing air transportation services to internationally renowned luxury resorts and hotel brands, is seeking a capable and motivated professional to join its finance department.

About the role

Revenue accountant will support credit control, revenue and finance operations, customer relationship management, departmental administration, and team coordination. Reporting directly to the department manager, the successful candidate will help ensure that departmental activities, customer matters, and assigned projects are completed accurately and within the required timelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Communicate and negotiate confidently with customers to secure payments and resolve account-related matters professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers and other external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate customer meetings and represent the department in collection discussions, official meetings, and other business engagements.
  • Monitor correspondence from customers and external parties, ensure timely responses, and follow up until matters are satisfactorily resolved.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve operational and financial matters.
  • Support the department head in planning, monitoring, and completing departmental activities within established deadlines.
  • Assist in supervising the team’s daily workload, coordinating responsibilities, and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and effectively.
  • Manage departmental administrative duties, including preparing staff rosters and monitoring leave and attendance.
  • Coordinate special assignments and projects outside routine operations and follow them through to successful completion.
  • Support month-end activities and other time-sensitive finance and revenue requirements, including occasional work outside regular hours when operationally required.
  • Prepare professional emails, letters, reports, and other business correspondence.
  • Perform other finance, revenue, credit control, and administrative duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and experience

  • Fully or partially qualified in AAT, CIMA, ACCA, CA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an executive, supervisory, or managerial capacity, including experience in leading or coordinating a team.
  • Relevant experience in finance, audit, banking, credit control, revenue management, or a related field.

  • Strong negotiation and customer-handling skills, with the confidence to manage challenging payment discussions professionally and diplomatically.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to monitor multiple responsibilities and ensure completion within deadlines.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to contribute positively as a team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare professional business correspondence.
  • Sound computer literacy and the ability to learn and effectively use relevant financial, reporting, and productivity tools.
  • A proactive, responsible, and solution-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Flexibility to support time-sensitive assignments, month-end activities, and occasional work outside regular hours when operationally required.
