Lead telecommunications engineer / team leader

Key responsibilities

• Microwave (MW) & RAN integration: Install, commission, troubleshoot, and align microwave links and RAN hardware across multiple tier-1 vendor platforms.
• Tower rigging & field alignment: Work actively as a certified/capable rigger, climbing towers for antenna mounting, cabling, and precise MW link alignment.
• Telecom power & hybrid solar systems: Execute complete end-to-end installations and commissioning of telecommunication power rectifiers, battery backup systems, and hybrid solar power solutions.
• Team leadership & supervision: Manage day-to-day operations for on-site engineers, riggers, and technicians. Enforce strict safety standards (working at heights, electrical safety) and drive project deadlines.

Key vendor & system platforms handled

• Microwave links: Aviat, ZTE, Huawei, Ericsson, NEC, and equivalent platforms.
• RAN infrastructure: Huawei, Nokia, ZTE, and related equipment.
• Power systems: Industrial rectifier modules, battery banks, and off-grid hybrid solar systems.

Required qualifications & experience

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Proven background in microwave link installation/alignment, RAN deployment, and power rectifier/solar installation.
• Rigging & physical fitness: Must be physically fit and fully capable of climbing towers and performing high-altitude installation work.
• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities to delegate tasks, solve on-site technical roadblocks, and manage site safety.
