Kitchen Assistant (8th Mile Post, Wilpattu)

The role

Day-to-day kitchen work under the chef. Not a supervisory position.

Duties

• Mise en place — cutting, cleaning, portioning and basic prep.
• Assist with à la carte and set-menu service (starter, soup, main, dessert).
• Handle simple dishes independently once trained.
• Receive and store goods correctly; follow FIFO.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and food-safety standards.
• Support breakfast, lunch and dinner services on a roster basis.

Requirements

• 1-3 years’ hotel or restaurant kitchen experience (NVQ / culinary certificate an advantage).
• Able to work independently on routine tasks without supervision.
• Clean, organised and fast during service.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and peak season.
• Comfortable living and working at a remote property.
