Finance Officer

KIU Sri Lanka is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Finance Officer to support the day-to-day financial operations of the university. Key responsibilities

• Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to assist future financial decision-making and ensure sustainable institutional growth.
• Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and performance summaries to support strategic planning and informed decision-making.
• Monitor and manage cash flow, financial controls, and resource utilization to maintain operational efficiency and financial stability.
• Oversee student revenue administration, including fee collections, receivables monitoring, and income trend analysis.
• Support cost control initiatives and operational finance activities by reviewing expenditures and identifying opportunities for financial efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax regulations, statutory requirements, and audit processes through accurate documentation and timely reporting.
• Utilize and improve financial systems, data management, and reporting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and decision-support capabilities.

Candidate profile

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or management is required, and fully qualified candidates in CA, CIMA, or CMA will be highly preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar finance/accounting role.
• Experience in the higher education sector will be an added advantage.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
• Ability to prepare and interpret budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and variance analyses.
• Sound understanding of financial controls, compliance, and management reporting.
