Finance manager

Job responsibilities

1. Support the development and execution of financial plans aligned with business objectives.
2. Prepare and present accurate financial reports, budgets, forecasts and management information.
3. Lead the preparation of the annual report, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements and reporting deadlines.
4. Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and corporate governance requirements, while maintaining effective financial controls and policies.
5. Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis to drive profitability, cost control and business performance.
6. Oversee inventory accounting and inventory controls across warehouses and distribution channels.
7. Manage cash flow, working capital, treasury operations and funding requirements.
8. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and risk management.
9. Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
10. Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing processes.
11. Partner with business functions to improve financial performance and optimize resource allocation.
12. Lead, coach and develop the finance team to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Candidate profile

1. Full professional qualification and membership in a recognized accounting body such as CA Sri Lanka, CIMA or ACCA.
2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including at least 3 years in a similar capacity.
3. Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems together with advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office package.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
5. Prior experience in the manufacturing, trading and distribution sectors, will be a distinct advantage.
6. Prior experience in a listed company will be a distinct advantage.
