DevOps Engineer (Application Deployment & Integration)

We are a leading financial services organization seeking a highly competent DevOps engineer – application deployment & integration to lead and manage enterprise-wide application deployment operations across multiple technology platforms.

This role is critical in ensuring seamless deployments, system integrations, and secure configuration management across diverse architectures including cloud, mobile, and enterprise application environments.

Role profile

The selected candidate will be responsible for end-to-end deployment management of Live and UAT environments across multiple application architectures, including Progress AppServer, Java/React-based systems, and mobile platforms.

The role will also oversee application security configuration maintenance, system integrations, and release governance, while leading the application deployment function within the ICT team.

The position reports to the chief manager – in-house developments.

Key responsibilities

Application deployment management

1. Plan, coordinate, and execute application deployments across Live and UAT environments.
2. Manage release cycles for multiple architectures including:
3. Progress AppServer-based systems
4. Java backend & React frontend applications
5. Android and Apple (iOS) mobile applications
6. Ensure smooth, error-free deployments with proper validation and rollback mechanisms.
7. Maintain release documentation, version control, and audit trails.

Cloud & infrastructure deployment

1. Manage application deployments in cloud and hybrid environments.
2. Coordinate with infrastructure and development teams for deployment readiness.
3. Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and optimization.
4. Ensure high availability and scalability in deployment processes.

Systems integration management

1. Manage and support integrations between internal systems and external platforms.
2. Ensure reliable data flow and interoperability between applications.
3. Troubleshoot integration failures and performance issues.
4. Maintain integration documentation and standards.

Security configuration & compliance

1. Implement and maintain security configurations for application servers and integrations.
2. Ensure compliance with company-defined security standards and policies.
3. Support vulnerability remediation and secure deployment practices.
4. Work closely with cybersecurity teams to align deployments with security requirements.

Technical leadership & governance

1. Lead the application deployment unit and provide technical direction.
2. Establish deployment standards, SOPs, and best practices.
3. Drive automation initiatives and DevOps maturity within the organization.
4. Coordinate with development, QA, infrastructure, and security teams.
5. Monitor deployment performance and continuously improve processes.

Qualifications & experience

1. Degree or professional qualification in IT / computer science or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in DevOps, application deployment, or release management.
3. Proven experience in managing multi-platform application deployments in enterprise environments.
4. Hands-on experience with:
5. Progress AppServer environments
6. Java-based backend systems & React applications
7. Mobile application deployments (Android & iOS)
8. Cloud platforms and hybrid deployments
9. Experience in CI/CD tools, scripting, and automation frameworks.
10. Exposure to systems integration and API-based architectures.
11. Experience working in regulated environments will be an added advantage.
12. Strong understanding of DevOps practices and deployment automation.
13. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
14. Ability to manage multiple deployments in parallel with high accuracy.
15. Strong knowledge of application security and configuration management.
16. Leadership capability with team coordination experience.
17. Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
18. High attention to detail, accountability, and proactive mindset.
