Role overview

As the deputy manager – finance, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring stringent compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making across our corporate operations and manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate closely with management to maintain financial discipline and drive efficiency.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with LKAS/SLFRS.
  2. Drive the annual budgeting process, monitor variances, and provide actionable financial insights to department heads.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate handling of corporate taxation (VAT, income tax, SSCL, etc.) and strict compliance with statutory regulations.
  4. Optimize liquidity, manage cash flow forecasting, and oversee credit control operations.
  5. Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth financial audits and timely implementation of recommended controls.
  6. Supervise, mentor, and guide the executive and junior executive finance staff to foster a high-performance culture.

Qualifications

  1. Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or management from a recognized university, and full professional qualification in ICASL, CIMA, or ACCA.
  2. A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial capacity (experience in a manufacturing environment is highly advantageous).

Skills

  1. Strong proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial modeling tools.
  2. In-depth knowledge of Sri Lankan statutory laws, taxation, and related financial compliance.
  3. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
  4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
