Deputy general manager – finance

Duties & responsibilities

• Oversee the company’s day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and timely completion.
• Ensure the timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts and regulatory returns.
• Monitor cash flows, financial transactions, reconciliations, receivables, payables and overall financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Maintain effective financial controls, accounting systems and processes to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
• Oversee IFRS 17- related financial reporting and compliance requirements in coordination with relevant functions.
• Monitor the financial operations of subsidiaries and ensure appropriate reporting and controls.
• Provide accurate financial information and analysis to management to support operational and financial decision-making.
• Coordinate with relevant departments on budgeting, expenditure, cost management and other finance-related matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and operational efficiency.
• Lead, manage and develop the finance team, ensuring effective performance, resource utilization and delivery of key finance functions.

Qualifications

• CA / CIMA / ACCA qualified with a related degree approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior managerial grade, with an overall experience of more than 15 years in the relevant field.
• Age should be below 50 years.
