Accountant / Assistant Accountant

Colombo Colts Cricket Club, one of the Premier Cricket Clubs established in 1873, is affiliated with Sri Lanka Cricket and is on the lookout for competent individuals to fill the following vacancy immediately.

Qualifications and experiences

• Age below 50 years
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance part qualified and CIMA ICA or ACCA or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Retired accounting personnel also will be considered
• Minimum 2-5 years of accounting/finance experience
• Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with accounting and ERP systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
• Highly detail-oriented

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports including financial statements and budgets
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, government regulations, and internal control
• Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
• Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
• Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes
• Assist with and act as the primary point of contact for audit requirements
• Maintain confidential information
