Business Central Support Consultant

The Business Central support consultant will provide first- and second-level support to Business Central users, configure and maintain functional modules, and act as the bridge between end users and the development team. The role will work closely with PBA’s IT team in Singapore and developers in the Sri Lanka centre, and play a key part in improving how the ERP supports PBA’s operations.
Job responsibility
- Provide first- and second-level support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central users across PBA.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve functional and technical issues, escalating to developers where customization changes are required.
- Perform gap-fit analysis of business requirements, recommend appropriate Business Central solutions and configurations, and prepare functional specifications where customizations are required.
- Configure and maintain Business Central modules, including finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, manufacturing, and projects as required.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and system integration testing (SIT) for new customizations and enhancements.
- Assist with data migration, data correction, and data validation activities.
- Create and maintain system documentation, user guides, and knowledge-base articles.
- Conduct end-user training and provide ongoing user support.
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot customizations, extensions, reports, and integrations, providing clear reproduction steps and functional context.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement in processes and configuration.
- Manage and prioritize support requests using the team’s ticketing and Azure DevOps workflows.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job requirement
Qualification
- Diploma or degree in information technology, computer science, business information systems, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (or Dynamics NAV with recent Business Central exposure).
- Strong functional knowledge of Business Central finance and supply chain processes, including the accounting and operational impact of transactions.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot Business Central functional issues, identify root causes, and support end users, including remote users in other time zones; coordinate with developers where technical changes are required.
- Familiarity with Business Central administration and configuration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate user problems into clear technical descriptions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in written and spoken English.
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple support requests.
- Experience with UAT/SIT, data migration or validation, system documentation, and user training would be advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with developers on extensions, reports, integrations, or other ERP customizations would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to prepare clear documentation and reports.
