Assistant Manager – Tax | Transfer Pricing

As an assistant manager in our transfer pricing practice, you will play a key leadership role in delivering high quality transfer pricing consulting, compliance, and advisory services. You will manage complex engagements, guide teams, and work closely with senior stakeholders across a diverse client portfolio.

Key roles and responsibilities

1. Lead and review complex compliance and advisory assignments, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
2. Manage a broad portfolio of both local and multinational clients, developing strong long-term professional relationships.
3. Represent clients before the inland revenue department and the tax appeals commission, including preparation and presentation of submissions for appeal hearings.
4. Collaborate with EY global teams on crossborder and international tax matters relevant to Sri Lanka.
5. Provide technical guidance, coaching and supervision to junior team members, helping develop their tax capabilities and professional skills.

Skills and attributes for success

1. A recognised academic or professional qualification in accounting, finance or law (e.g., CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA). A combination of accounting and legal qualifications is an added advantage.
2. At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in taxation, finance, or consulting, with prior tax experience considered a strong advantage.
3. Strong analytical and interpretative skills, with the ability to handle complex technical matters.
4. Excellent written communication and clienthandling skills in English.
