Analyst | Senior Analyst – Investment Research
We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical professional to join our team as an analyst / senior analyst – investment research. The role will contribute to the company’s investment research function through industry and company research, financial analysis, and valuation, generating high-quality investment insights to support informed investment decisions relating to companies listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
Core responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research on industries, companies, and equity markets to identify investment opportunities and provide actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain financial models, perform valuation analysis, and interpret financial and market data to support investment decisions.
- Prepare high-quality equity research reports, market updates, presentations, and other research content for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor macroeconomic developments, market movements, company announcements, regulatory changes, and industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Contribute to investment recommendations and support the delivery of research products, presentations, webinars, and other investor-focused initiatives.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to research team members and support the coordination and delivery of research activities.
Qualifications, skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- MBA or CFA designation (or currently pursuing) is strongly preferred.
- CIMA, ACCA, or CA qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience in investment/equity research within a stockbroking or investment management firm.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with strong financial modeling skills.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
