Dsl is one of the leading automotive aftermarket companies and also a toys & apparel manufacturer in Sri Lanka representing a large portfolio of internationally renowned brands of auto parts, tires, batteries, industrial, agricultural implements including toys & apparel. We lead the Sri Lankan automotive aftermarket with an experienced, dynamic and dedicated team supported by a wide distribution network spread across the country.
We are seeking a suitable candidate to lead the internal audit function of our toys & apparel business. The selected individual will report to the group chairman/managing director and will be responsible for ensuring effective internal audit practices to identify risks, improve processes, and strengthen internal controls across the group.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, develop and execute internal audits to assess risk and control environments across the group
- Design audit programmes and conduct ad-hoc reviews to evaluate areas of key risk.
- Prepare and communicate timely audit observations and recommendations with the management and follow up on action plans within agreed timelines
- Identify and implement process improvements for cost-savings
- Review and streamline operational processes to enhance efficiency and control
- Provide advisory support to business functions on internal controls and policy development
- Ensure strong internal control systems across all group operations
Requirements
- Member of the institute of chartered accountants of Sri Lanka
- Degree in management, finance or accounting will be an added advantage
- 5–8 years of experience in auditing, risk and internal controls with a minimum of 3 years at a managerial level is ideal.
- Exposure in the apparel industry is a prerequisite.
- Exposure to trading and manufacturing environments and experience in computerized accounting systems; SAP B1 ERP knowledge would be an added advantage
- Self-motivated, independent and able to work with minimal supervision coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across functions with willingness to travel as and when required
- Openness to innovative approaches in risk assessment and problem-solving
