Dsl is one of the leading automotive aftermarket companies and also a toys & apparel manufacturer in Sri Lanka representing a large portfolio of internationally renowned brands of auto parts, tires, batteries, industrial, agricultural implements including toys & apparel. We lead the Sri Lankan automotive aftermarket with an experienced, dynamic and dedicated team supported by a wide distribution network spread across the country.

We are seeking a suitable candidate to lead the internal audit function of our toys & apparel business. The selected individual will report to the group chairman/managing director and will be responsible for ensuring effective internal audit practices to identify risks, improve processes, and strengthen internal controls across the group.

Key responsibilities

1. Plan, develop and execute internal audits to assess risk and control environments across the group
2. Design audit programmes and conduct ad-hoc reviews to evaluate areas of key risk.
3. Prepare and communicate timely audit observations and recommendations with the management and follow up on action plans within agreed timelines
4. Identify and implement process improvements for cost-savings
5. Review and streamline operational processes to enhance efficiency and control
6. Provide advisory support to business functions on internal controls and policy development
7. Ensure strong internal control systems across all group operations

Requirements

1. Member of the institute of chartered accountants of Sri Lanka
2. Degree in management, finance or accounting will be an added advantage
3. 5–8 years of experience in auditing, risk and internal controls with a minimum of 3 years at a managerial level is ideal.
4. Exposure in the apparel industry is a prerequisite.
5. Exposure to trading and manufacturing environments and experience in computerized accounting systems; SAP B1 ERP knowledge would be an added advantage
6. Self-motivated, independent and able to work with minimal supervision coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
7. Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across functions with willingness to travel as and when required
8. Openness to innovative approaches in risk assessment and problem-solving
