Accounts Executive

The group has established a strong presence in both mini-hydro and solar power generation and continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio in line with the nation’s transition towards sustainable energy solutions. As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a young, energetic, and results-oriented professional to join our finance team as an accounts executive. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a diversified renewable energy business and contribute to the financial management and reporting functions of a leading renewable energy group.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely posting of financial transactions in the ERP system.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial reports.
- Support the preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and working papers required for internal and external audits.
- Perform bank, debtor, creditor, and general ledger reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of tax computations, tax schedules, and related information required by tax consultants and regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and other external stakeholders on routine financial matters.
- Assist in monitoring cash flows, payments, receipts, and other treasury-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
- Prepare ad hoc reports, analyses, and management information as required by the finance manager and senior management.
- Support finance-related process improvements and ERP system enhancements.
Qualifications
- Part qualification in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit functions.
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Exposure to ERP systems is essential; experience with SAP Business One (SAP B1) will be a distinct advantage.
- Prior experience in the power, energy, or infrastructure sector will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and taxation fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
