Accountant

As we continue to lead and transform, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) is seeking a passionate and driven professional who embodies responsibility, adaptability and a commitment to excellence to take on this exciting role.

Key responsibilities

1. Management of receivables and advances.
2. Maintain payment schedules and support cash flow activities.
3. Oversee cash and bank management functions.
4. Administer and maintain fixed asset records.
5. Support month-end closing activities related to operational finance.
6. Monitor and control inventory to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
7. Handle branch-level finance operations.
8. Ensure proper filing, documentation, and maintenance of financial records.
9. Support audit queries related to operational transactions as required.
10. Assist the finance team with day-to-day activities and other tasks.
11. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Required qualifications

1. Associate member of CA Sri Lanka or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum one (1) year of post-qualification experience in accounting, finance, or financial reporting.
3. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
6. Knowledge of accounting software packages and ERP systems will be an added advantage.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
9. High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
10. Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
