Statistician – Risk Advisory
We are looking for a Statistician/Business Analyst to work in the Financial Services Risk and Management (FSRM) pillar of the FAAS division of EY Sri Lanka. We provide accounting and risk advisory services to clients in the banking, finance and insurance space.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Develop and validate quantitative risk models and analytical frameworks to support risk measurement, forecasting, and capital planning.
- Apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques to solve business and risk management challenges.
- Develop predictive, classification, clustering, anomaly detection, and forecasting models.
- Translate complex analytical outputs into actionable recommendations for clients and senior management while supporting project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Skills and attributes for success
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, financial mathematics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 1-2 years of experience in data science, analytics, quantitative modelling, or financial risk management.
- Proficiency in Python, R, advanced Excel/VBA, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics and visualization tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
