We at LEADS, work with the most vulnerable Sri Lankan communities and children who seek protection from severe economic and social circumstances. We are a faith-based community development organisation that partners with people of all faiths. We operate island-wide, focusing on the most vulnerable children and communities through our community development, emergency relief and advocacy interventions. We are currently seeking applications for the above vacancy.

The Programme Coordinator provides expertise through coordination and support to the district-based project/team all through the project cycle. The role includes monitoring, reporting, and coordination between the District Team and Colombo-based Programs Department, and local partners on effective project implementation. This position is based in Colombo, with frequent travel to the project area.

Qualifications & skills

  • Bachelor’s degree / HND in sociology, development studies or an equivalent field of study
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position in the humanitarian & development sector
  • Understanding of MEAL, project log frames, theory of change concepts will be useful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and one or more of the local languages
  • Experience in conceptualization and proposal writing will be advantageous
  • Quick learner with ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Ability to work with MS Office and other supporting software
  • Ability to provide technical support/inputs in developing and implementing operational standards
  • Knowledge about child focused research and studies will be an added advantage
  • Possess an independent perspective on poverty, economic challenges, child rights issues
  • Should be willing to travel widely across Sri Lanka
