Manager – Sales & Marketing (Freight Forwarding)

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies for the freight forwarding / sea freight business.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities and expand the customer portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with main shipping lines, overseas agents and other industry stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, freight rates and customer requirements.
• Achieve agreed sales, revenue and profitability targets.
• Maintain regular sales reports, forecasts and business development plans for management review.

Candidate profile

• Degree or professional qualification in sales & marketing; shipping & logistics.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding with proven experience in sales/business development role.
• Should have an active customer base.
• Strong knowledge of FCL/LCL sea freight operations, international trade and freight forwarding practices.
• Good rapport with main shipping lines to obtain competitive freight rates.
• Proven ability to develop new business and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Commercially minded with a strong focus on achieving targets and business growth.
• Excellent command of English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a target-driven environment.
