Internal Auditor – Dankotuwa

With the rapid expansion of our operations, we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented internal auditor to evaluate internal controls, financial processes, and operational procedures, ensuring compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the risk-based annual internal audit plan and deliver it on schedule across all plants, farms, hatchery and group entities.
• Audit the core operating cycles – raw material procurement from collectors and suppliers, receiving, production yield and recovery, cold-store and finished-goods inventory, export documentation and revenue, payroll and payments.
• Perform physical verifications: inventory and cold-store counts, fixed-asset verification, cash and stock at plants and collection centres; reconcile findings to the ERP.
• Review compliance with company policies, delegated authorities, statutory requirements (EPF/ETF, taxes, exchange control, customs).
• Identify control weaknesses, revenue leakage, cost overruns and fraud risk; investigate irregularities and report findings with practical, prioritised recommendations.
• Prepare clear audit reports.
• Support the external audit.

Requirements

• Part- or fully-qualified accountant (CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA) or a degree in accounting/finance.
• 3-5 years’ experience in internal audit, or external audit with a leading firm, ideally covering manufacturing, FMCG, agri or export businesses; exposure to plant-level operational audits is a strong advantage.
• Sound understanding of internal control frameworks, risk-based audit methodology and SLFRS; ability to analyse ERP data and use Excel to test large populations.
• Independent, objective and diplomatic – able to challenge constructively at all levels and to write reports that senior management and the board can act on.
• Willing to travel regularly to plants and collection centres in Dankotuwa, Jaffna and Mannar.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil is required for plant-level work.
