Sewing technician – sewing & line feeding

We are currently seeking a dynamic, result-oriented and experienced professional to join our team as sewing technician.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and optimize sewing machines according to garment specifications and operations.
• Analyze sewing operations and develop the most effective machine settings, attachments, and methods.
• Provide technical support to sewing lines to achieve quality, efficiency, and production targets.
• Manage and coordinate sewing line feeding to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production flow.
• Ensure the correct cut panels, bundles, trims, and accessories are available and supplied to each operation on time.
• Monitor line feeding according to the production plan, style, colour, size, and operation sequence.
• Coordinate with cutting, production, stores, and line supervisors, to prevent line stoppages caused by material shortages.
• Identify feeding bottlenecks and take timely corrective action to maintain continuous production.
• Plan and coordinate the feeding of new styles and new lines according to the production schedule.
• Analyze sewing operations and establish suitable machine types, settings, attachments, folders and guides.
• Provide technical support to sewing lines to achieve quality, efficiency, and production targets.

Requirements

• 3-10 years of proven experience as a sewing technician, technical officer or similar position in the garment industry.
• Experience in an export-oriented garment manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of industrial sewing machines and sewing operations.
• Ability to work independently and effectively.
• Practical experience in line setup, line balancing and operation sequence.
• Good understanding of garment construction, operation breakdown and approved samples.
• Experience handling woven garments such as jackets, trousers, shirts, will be an added advantage.
• A practical, disciplined and result-oriented approach is essential.
