Trainee analyst – investment research

We are looking for a highly motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Analyst – Investment Research. This is an opportunity for an aspiring individual to gain hands-on exposure to financial markets, company analysis, equity research, and macroeconomic trends, while supporting the preparation of insightful research and analysis to assist informed investment decisions.

Core responsibilities

• Monitor market trends, macroeconomic developments, and regulatory changes while maintaining research databases and monthly economic updates.
• Conduct fundamental research on listed companies and industry sectors using annual reports, CSE disclosures, and other reliable sources.
• Assist in developing and updating financial models, conducting relative valuations, and applying DCF techniques under senior supervision.
• Prepare stock briefing notes, rapid insight reports, and flash notes on CSE-listed companies.
• Organize financial data, prepare analytical dashboards and charts, and maintain research templates with a high level of accuracy.
• Track market news, earnings releases, corporate actions, and dividend disclosures while supporting senior analysts with research activities and special projects.

Qualifications, skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a capital market-related field.
• Currently pursuing or partly completed professional qualifications (CFA, CIMA, ACCA, CA, or MBA) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in equity research, stockbroking, or investment analysis is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical, presentation, and written/verbal communication skills.
• High accuracy, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
