Personal Assistant cum Secretary
Founded in 2006, the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Sri Lanka CERT) is Sri Lanka’s National CERT and serves under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Economy.
Sri Lanka CERT, the nation’s apex body for cybersecurity, is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and professional “Personal Assistant cum Secretary” to support our chairman. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and impactful organization working at the forefront of national cyber resilience.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Full spectrum of secretarial support to chairman.
- Provide support to the daily activities of the chairman including emails and meeting arrangement.
- Maintain daily tasks list, manage diary, and arrange meetings and appointments.
- Prepare reports, documents and presentation materials to be used by chairman including coordination.
- Arrange internal and external meetings.
- General administrative and office duties, such as screening and directing phone, devise and maintain chairman’s office filing system.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondences including mail, email and faxes.
- Manage and maintain a neat and pleasant appearance of the reception area.
- Ensure and provide excellent visitor service.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree (SLQF 5 or 6) in human resource management, business administration, public administration, commerce, office management, secretarial studies, communication, or any other field relevant to the post, obtained from a local or foreign university, recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC) in Sri Lanka.
- With
- At least two (02) years of experience in similar roles within a public corporation, statutory board, fully government owned company, or a reputed commercial establishment, after obtaining the first degree.
- Or
- Passed G.C.E. advanced level with 3 subjects in one sitting or advanced certificate equivalent to NVQ level 4 in communications, computing, social media, social sciences, business management, secretarial practice or any other field relevant to the post, obtained from a local or foreign institution, recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission Tertiary (TVEC) in Sri Lanka.

- At least four (04) years of experience as a personal assistant or a similar role within a public corporation, statutory board, fully government owned company, or a reputed commercial establishment, after obtaining the G.C.E. advanced level qualification.
Variety of skills should include
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Able to speak fluently and write well in English and Sinhala.
- Good initiative, well organized, meticulous and able to work independently.
- Proficient with MS Office, Adobe, online conferencing software e.g. Zoom, Team and etc.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Other general qualifications
Candidates should fulfil the following general requirements:
- Age should be not less than 25 years and not more than 35 years.
- Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
- Should be physically and mentally fit to discharge the duties of the post well and to serve in any part of the island.
- Should be of excellent moral character.
- Should have a good command of the English and Sinhala/Tamil language as interactions with high-level national institutions, international agencies and other institutions overseas is a job requirement.
Salary will be based on current industry standards and includes travel allowances.
