Internship – Procurement

Responsibilities

1. Identifying purchasing requirements from internal stakeholders.
2. Obtaining quotations from suppliers and assisting with supplier evaluations.
3. Creating purchase orders using the IFS ERP system.
4. Supporting supplier negotiations to achieve the best value for the organization.
5. Following up on deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
6. Assisting with vendor relationship management and maintaining supplier records.
7. Supporting procurement activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications & required skills

1. Undergraduate or graduate in supply chain management, materials management, finance, or an equivalent professional qualification.
2. Good communication skills in Sinhala and English.
3. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
4. Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of ERP systems (IFS experience will be an added advantage).
5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
6. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a willingness to learn.
