Job responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of financial plans aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare and present accurate financial reports, budgets, forecasts and management information.
- Lead the preparation of the annual report, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements and reporting deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and corporate governance requirements, while maintaining effective financial controls and policies.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis to drive profitability, cost control and business performance.
- Oversee inventory accounting and inventory controls across warehouses and distribution channels.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, treasury operations and funding requirements.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and risk management.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Partner with business functions to improve financial performance and optimize resource allocation.
- Lead, coach and develop the finance team to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Candidate profile
- Full professional qualification and membership in a recognized accounting body such as CA Sri Lanka, CIMA or ACCA.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including at least 3 years in a similar capacity.
- Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems together with advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office package.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Prior experience in the manufacturing, trading and distribution sectors, will be a distinct advantage.
- Prior experience in a listed company will be a distinct advantage.
