A Demi Chef De Partie assists in managing a specific section of the kitchen. They are responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities

  1. Food preparation
  2. Prepare, cook, and present menu items in accordance with established recipes and required high standards.
  3. Hygiene & safety
  4. Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, including food storage.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
  6. Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment.
  7. Supervision & training
  8. Assist in leading, training, and mentoring junior commis chefs and apprentices.
  9. Stock control
  10. Help manage inventory levels for the section, monitoring food freshness and minimizing waste.
  11. Team collaboration
  12. Work closely with the culinary team, communicating with senior chefs on production needs.
  13. Comply with health and safety regulations.

Skills & requirements

  1. Basic culinary qualification or equivalent experience
  2. 1-3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen
  3. Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
  4. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  5. Teamwork and communication skills
  6. Attention to detail and consistency
