Account Intern

Biodiversity Sri Lanka (BSL) is a nationally recognized platform entirely owned and driven by the private sector, established to promote strong engagement of the corporate sector in biodiversity and environmental conservation in Sri Lanka. BSL actively promotes strong leadership of the private sector in the areas of biodiversity and environmental conservation, through the provision of technical support, sharing of information, knowledge, and experience, promotion of best practices through active learning and understanding mechanisms, and initiating and facilitating dialogue between state and civil society partners and the private sector, advocating biodiversity-friendly policies and positive instruments that campaign for the conservation of Sri Lanka’s fragile environment – http//www.biodiversitysrilanka.org/

BSL is looking for an Intern for its Accounts Department.

The main functions are,

• Process supplier payments while seeking approvals and ensuring relevant supportive documents as per BSL policy
• Maintain records on BSL payments
• Charge expenses to relevant BSL ledgers
• Coordinate with banks and other relevant parties for incoming payments
• Support logistical and administrative functions of BSL
• Support contractual and procurement work related to Projects

Qualifications

• Following a Diploma in Commerce/ Accounting/ or AAT Qualification
• Age below 25 years
• Good communication skills
• Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows Environment
• Skills in database management and record-keeping
• Excellent organizational skills
