Spanish Teacher

The Spanish teacher at EFIC works with secondary school students according to a timetable determined at the beginning of each academic year, depending on the number of classes concerned. For the 2026–2027 school year, the teaching load is 7 hours per week.

The teacher reports directly to the head of school / school principal and is responsible for teaching Spanish to students from grade 7 (5ème) onwards, including students enrolled in the CNED (Centre National d’Enseignement à Distance) programme.

For CNED students, the Spanish teacher acts as a tutor, supporting students in completing the coursework and assignments required by CNED. In this capacity, the teacher works closely with the other CNED tutors, one of whom is responsible for coordinating the programme.

The teacher may also be required to participate in pedagogical meetings throughout the school year.

Main responsibilities

Teaching

  1. Deliver Spanish language instruction to secondary school students.
  2. Prepare lessons in accordance with students’ needs and curriculum requirements.
  3. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

CNED tutoring

  1. Support CNED students in completing their Spanish coursework.
  2. Monitor student progress and ensure regular follow-up.
  3. Collaborate with the CNED coordination team and other tutors.

Collaboration

  1. Participate in pedagogical meetings and school activities when required.
  2. Work collaboratively with colleagues and the school administration.
  3. Maintain regular communication with students and families regarding academic progress.

Required qualifications and experience

  1. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
  2. Minimum bachelor’s degree (bachelor +3) in Spanish language, Spanish studies, education, or a related field from a French-speaking or Spanish-speaking institution.
  3. Minimum five years of experience teaching secondary school students.
  4. Professional references and employment certificates will be required.

Desired skills

  1. Good command of the French language.
  2. Knowledge of the French educational system and official curricula is highly desirable.
  3. Ability to work effectively within a team.
  4. Strong organisational and communication skills.
  5. Experience supporting students in distance-learning programmes is an advantage.
