We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Audit Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the audit function by assisting with financial and operational audits, reviewing records and documentation, preparing audit working papers, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. You will work closely with the audit team while gaining hands-on experience in internal audit processes, risk assessment, and financial reporting. Key responsibilities of the role
- Support the internal audit function by assisting in planning and executing audits across operational and financial areas.
- Review records, documents, and transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing audit working papers, reports, and documentation of findings.
- Support risk assessment activities and help identify control gaps and process improvements.
- Coordinate with different departments to obtain required audit information and ensure smooth audit execution.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to internal audit reports by summarizing findings and recommendations for management review.
Required qualifications & experience
- Partly or fully completed HNDA or AAT qualification, or similar accounting-related qualification.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and internal audit processes.
- Good analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to review financial records and identify discrepancies or control weaknesses.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with different departments.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Eagerness to learn and develop a career in internal auditing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured environment.
