Estimator | Quantity Surveyor

OPALSL specializes in providing commercial & technical services for joinery, interior fit-out & civil engineering companies worldwide. We are looking for a detail-oriented estimator / quantity surveyor to join our team and contribute to our growing projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and client quotations.
• Review and interpret architectural, interior, joinery and technical drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Measure quantities and prepare material, labour and cost breakdowns.
• Analyze project scope, drawings and specifications to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Obtain, evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare and submit tender submissions and commercial proposals.
• Assist with variations, additional works and cost control.
• Maintain updated material rates, supplier databases and cost libraries.
• Coordinate with project, technical, procurement and design teams.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and support cost optimization.
• Maintain proper records and documentation of estimates and commercial information.
• Ensure timely submission of quotations and tenders.
• Support project teams during pre- and post-contract stages.

Required qualifications

• Diploma / degree in quantity surveying, construction, estimation or a related field.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of BOQ preparation, costing and quantity take-offs.
• Ability to read and understand construction and interior drawings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of construction / joinery materials and finishes.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Added advantage

• Experience with Middle East / GCC projects.
• Experience in joinery or interior fit-out estimation.
• Knowledge of Revit / BIM / Navisworks.
• Experience with international clients or consultants.
