Full time IELTS | PTE lecturer – Colombo | Kandy

Key responsibilities

• Conduct IELTS academic & general / PTE academic preparation classes.
• Teach all four language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
• Deliver exam-focused lessons, strategies, practice sessions, and mock examinations.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Monitor student attendance, participation, progress, and academic performance.
• Participate in academic meetings, workshops, training programmes, and institutional activities.
• Maintain professional teaching standards and contribute to continuous improvement of the language faculty.

Qualifications & requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, English language teaching, TESOL, applied linguistics, linguistics, education, English literature, language studies, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of proven teaching experience in IELTS/PTE preparation.
• Applicants must be available to conduct classes on weekends. Weekend availability is a mandatory requirement for this position.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Strong knowledge of IELTS / PTE examination formats, assessment criteria, and preparation strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, classroom management, and student engagement skills.
• Ability to prepare effective lesson plans and exam-focused learning materials.
• Experience working in a language institute, higher education institution, international education environment, or recognised IELTS/PTE preparation centre.
