Assistant Manager – IT & AI Projects

Purpose of the role

Lead the development and delivery of AI, automation and digital solutions that simplify business processes, strengthen operational efficiency and enable faster, data-driven decision-making across Finlays Colombo. The role will connect business needs with technology and ensure solutions are practical, scalable and successfully adopted.

Key responsibilities

• Lead AI, automation and digital projects from business requirement through design, testing, implementation and adoption.
• Work with functions across the business to identify practical opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and decision-making through technology.
• Develop and implement AI-enabled solutions, including workflow automation, predictive analytics and intelligent applications.
• Integrate digital solutions with enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power BI and ERP systems.
• Ensure reliable data integration and effective information flow between systems and applications.
• Coordinate vendors, project timelines, testing, issue resolution, documentation and user training.
• Build cross-functional ownership and ensure implemented solutions deliver measurable business value.

The ideal candidate

• Degree or professional qualification in artificial intelligence, data science, information technology, computer science or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT, software development or digital transformation, including experience delivering AI, machine-learning or automation solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Practical experience in AI solutions, data integration, Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power BI and ERP environments.
• Proven track record in taking technology solutions from concept through implementation, integration and user adoption.
• An analytical and commercially aware professional with strong technical, project management and stakeholder-engagement skills.
