Accountant

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage monthly financial statements, P&L accounts, and balance sheets.
• Handle end-to-end statutory tax compliance, including VAT, SSCL, income tax, and WHT filings with the IRD.
• Perform regular bank account reconciliations and monitor company cash flows and liquidity.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, general ledger entries, and monthly closings.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or partly qualified in CA Sri Lanka / CIMA / ACCA / CMA.
• Minimum 3+ years of comprehensive accounting experience covering tax, banking, and financial management.
• Hands-on experience in tax calculation & filing procedures in Sri Lanka (RAMIS / IRD).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software.
• High proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced MS Excel.

Accountant clerk

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the accountant with daily bookkeeping, data entry, and filing of financial records.
• Issue invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers for daily business transactions.
• Maintain petty cash books, track routine operational expenses, and record receipts.
• Perform basic bank reconciliations and deposit updates.
• Follow up on pending customer payments and verify vendor invoices prior to payment.

Requirements:

• A/L commerce stream with passes in accounting / mathematics.
• AAT (association of accounting technicians) stage completed or diploma/certificate in bookkeeping.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on bookkeeping or general accounting clerk experience.
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and popular accounting software (QuickBooks).
