Project Lead – Qualitative Research
As a project lead – qualitative research, you will support qualitative research activities aimed at understanding community, health system, and behavioral factors influencing the implementation and uptake of a new intervention. This role provides valuable exposure to fieldwork, international research standards, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate qualitative data collection activities.
- Supervise and support field teams to ensure timely and high-quality data collection.
- Coordinate day-to-day field operations and field logistics.
- Communicate effectively with local communities and community leaders.
- Work closely with local healthcare professionals and relevant stakeholders.
- Organise and facilitate meetings, community engagements, and study-related activities.
- Ensure adherence to study protocols, ethical requirements, and project timelines.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the project manager.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in bio science, health promotion, nursing, allied health sciences, social sciences, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in field-based research, community-based projects, or public health programmes.
Skills and competencies
- Strong coordination, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple field activities.
- Fluency in Sinhala and English is essential. Fluency in Tamil will be advantageous.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to field locations, including locations outside the Gampaha district, as required.
Contract and location details
- Contract type: 1-year project-based contract, renewable based on performance and project needs.
- Work location: Gampaha district.
